Working in Belarus…
Our active work with Christians in Belarus began in 1994 and continued into mid 2011. During this period members at Washington Avenue were instrumental in helping to establish a congregation of the Church in the city of Molodechno, worked with the Church in Minsk and reached out to other cities in Belarus and surrounding countries. While actively engaged with the Church in Belarus, many of our members, ranging in age from the teen years to senior citizen status, made numerous missionary trips to the country. Their individual and collective contributions played a powerful role in the establishment and development of the congregation, along with supporting Christians throughout the area.
While the partnership with the Church in Belarus has been incredibly rewarding, the task has not been an easy one. The political environment was, and is, challenging and far from favorable to religious activity. In the face of these challenges a small and devoutly committed group of Christians has matured to serve the Master. They go about daily telling His story.
Our financial support of the work came to an end in 2011. Our interest in and concern for the work continues daily in our prayers.
